Tatenokawa Sake Brewery, established in 1832, is located in Sakata City, Yamagata Prefecture, Japan. In 2010, it became the first brewery in Yamagata to exclusively produce Junmai Daiginjo sake, the highest grade of sake, demonstrating a steadfast commitment to quality and excellence. The brewery is led by sixth-generation brewer Sato Jumpei, who has articulated a ""100-Year Vision"" aimed at propelling Tatenokawa into the ranks of the world's premier sake producers. Tatenokawa benefits from the natural resources of the Shonai region, utilizing pristine water from the surrounding mountains and locally sourced rice, particularly the Dewasansan variety.
