Founded in 1831 by Yohei Sagara, Asahisakae its located in Iwafune-cho, Tochigi City, nestled in the southern part of Tochigi Prefecture. The brewery thrives in a serene natural setting, in lush and peaceful greenery countryside. Seeking the perfect water source for his sake, the first-generation Yohei journeyed to this location, inherited the name Hikoshiro Sagara, and began crafting sake. The underground water which naturally flows from the Nikko Mountains, has been the foundation of Asahisake’s sake brewing. The low mineral content give a soft and slightly sweet quality taste to their sake. Only locally sourced ingredients from Tocighi prefecture are used. Each batch is crafted with care and passion with the highest quality traditional and modern techniques.
